La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva

Pay attention to the “Reserva”

Size = Maximo (5 1/2 x 54)

Wrapper = Oscuro (grown in Mexico)

This cigar is made up of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos.

Price that I paid = $9.75

I bought and smoked this cigar at the Club Humidor on Huebner

Aged for 2 months at home (I’m not sure how long it was at the shop before I took it home)

This cigar had an effortless draw. I put a double V cut on this slightly boxed pressed cigar and it worked out beautifully. I could tell from the very first puff that this was going to be a great cigar. It is full of flavor, and created a nice thick smoke. This cigar is medium-full bodied and full of bold flavor, but not in a bad way. Although this cigar has a bold flavor, it is not overpowering…it actually has a lot of taste. The slightly box pressed design of this cigar fits nicely in your mouth. Some box pressed cigars are too “boxy,” but this cigar is the perfect size and almost has a little bit of rounded shape. This particular cigar was soft and felt great on my teeth (that could have been due to me letting this one sit for a couple months at 72% humidity in my wineador).

The Maximo is a great size. It burns very evenly, and you can take nice, slow, soft puffs on this cigar and still get a good amount of cold smoke in your mouth. This cigar is a little spicy when you blow it through your nose. I cruised through the first half of this smoke, and it took me about 30 minutes to get to bottom “Reserva” band. Interestingly, the second half burned a little slower. It still took me over an hour to enjoy this cigar. One thing that I liked about this cigar is that it wasn’t rolled too tightly. I’m sure that contributed to how easy this cigar was to smoke.

This cigar is under the Ashton brand of cigars, and it lives up to the Ashton name. I would definitely say that this cigar has a medium-full (a little bit closer to the full side) bodied taste. The draw was nice and smooth the whole way through.

I must add that this cigar’s outside wrapper is impeccable, and has an awesome texture.
