I bought this cigar at the Club Humidor on San Pedro and I smoked it at the Club Humidor on Huebner Road a couple of days later.
This cigar started off great with an excellent draw. It is a very smooth cigar that creates a nice cool smoke when you puff slowly. The Epifania is very easy to retro-hale and doesn’t burn at all as you blow smoke through your nose. The combination of the Dominican tobacco in this cigar adds a nice balance to the body that mellows out the overall flavor of this smoke. This cigar also had some good strength and I was able to get a little bit of a buzz once I passed the half-way mark. The buzz kind of creeped up on me after a little while, and I didn’t even notice it at first because this cigar is just so smooth. The flavor enhances the longer you smoke it, and at the half-way mark there is a slight nutty flavor. Most of the flavor notes come through your nose in the retro-hale. There is also a little hint of sweet caramel as well towards the end. Also, this cigar has different tastes based on the type of puff you take (short puff, long draw and retro-hale) so try out different variations to see if you can taste the differences. On a side note, in 2013 the El Primer Mundo Epifania was nominated for Best Brand USA by Cigar Journal.
Overall Rating = GREAT!
